Installing a granite counter top should not be attempted alone. Granite is very heavy. The existing cabinets will be tested to see if they can hold the weight of the new counter. Once installed, taking care of the granite is easy. Once weekly, oil should be rubbed on the surface to ensure the rock will not dry out. This oil can be found at any home improvement outlet. Disinfecting the granite is easy with a little soap and water. This will keep the granite shiny and germ free. Enjoying one’s counter top is something a person will cherish forever. And when the time comes to sell the house, the granite counter top will add much value to the overall price of the home.
